Sewing & Sowing to Freedom: A Harvest Celebration of Heritage – October 11th!
Join us at Christ Episcopal Church in Blaine for our 2025 Harvest Festival and a special event: “Sewing & Sowing to Freedom.” Come together with family, friends, and neighbors at Christ Episcopal Church, 382 Boblett St., to celebrate the season and honor a remarkable story of heritage and hope.
This unique celebration connects our community to history in a tangible way. We will be celebrating the harvest from our CEC Giving Garden, which features plants grown from seeds with a direct lineage to Philipsburg Manor. These seeds, carefully cultivated in our garden, represent a powerful journey of resilience and freedom.
Immerse yourself in a hands-on history lesson as you learn about the Underground Railroad quilt codes. Discover the secret messages and symbols that guided freedom-seekers on their perilous journey north. This interactive experience offers a profound way for all ages to connect with the stories of those who bravely sought liberty.
The day will be filled with joy and community spirit. Enjoy live music, engaging games, and related desserts inspired by the historical theme. “Sewing & Sowing to Freedom” is more than just a festival; it’s an invitation to reflect on our shared history while making new memories.
We invite everyone in the community to be part of this meaningful event. Let’s celebrate the harvest, honor the past, and grow together.
